
Tsianna Crooks-Backus

Tsianna is a provisional psychologist who has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. She values building collaborative therapeutic relationships and tailors her approach to each individual’s unique experiences and goals. Tsianna aims to create a non-judgmental, safe space for clients to feel comfortable and supported.
She has experience working with a variety of presentations including anxiety, neurodivergence, stress, self-esteem difficulties, trauma, and interpersonal challenges. Tsianna has also worked with children presenting with behavioral concerns and emotion regulation difficulties.
Tsianna draws on a range of evidence-based practices, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), strengths-focused, play-based, and person-centered approaches.
As a provisional psychologist, Tsianna is currently undertaking supervised practice as part of a Psychology Board of Australia approved internship. Her qualifications include a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Clinical/Counseling Psychology.
In her free time, Tsianna enjoys spending time with her loved ones, exploring local restaurants, and traveling.

Tsianna completed her undergraduate training in psychology at a university within California’s Bay Area, where she is originally from.

Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology - University of San Francisco
Tsianna completed her graduate studies in San Francisco, CA. During her graduate program, she completed a supervised therapist traineeship with Discovery Counseling Center where she worked with children in a primary school setting.
Other clinical experience:
Tsianna has worked at a summer camp supporting children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). She has also supported adolescents presenting with anxiety, depression, substance use, trauma, and other mental health concerns within a residential behavioral health setting.
